RICE LAKE FIRE
Thank you for visiting our website. You will find our Fire Department to be one of the best. Our 100% volunteer fire department is run by the best and brightest men and women of our city. We have served approximately 34 square miles in northeast Minnesota since 1948.
OUR mission
The mission of the Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Department is to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fire, medical emergencies, and other disasters. We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire suppression, medical services, and other related emergency and non-emergency activities. We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all the resources at our command to provide a service deemed excellent by our citizens.

We are always looking for volunteers. We are currently recruiting Firefighters/First Responders and Medical First Responders. Please stop by and visit our hall at 4051 Martin Rd. any Thursday at 7:30pm. We look forward to seeing you soon!
WHAT IT TAKES TO VOLUNTEER
Members of Rice Lake Fire Department come from all walks of life. Skill sets that our membership possess come from professions such as Mechanics, IT Specialists, Utility Workers, Nursing, Aviation Specialists, Electricians, Plumbers, Administrative Professionals, Social Workers, Line Workers, Military, Emergency Services, Food Service Industry, Small Business Owners, and the list goes on. The one thing we all have in common is the desire to do something good and important for others in the community. If you think you have the time and the desire to help, we would love to meet you. Stop by our fire station any Thursday night or reach out to us via phone or email.
LEARN WHAT YOU NEED ON THE JOB
When you sign up to be a volunteer firefighter/emergency responder, you'll receive all the training you need. You'll learn skills to help your community during fires, medical emergencies, and road and air accidents, just to name a few.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18 years old

High School Diploma/GED

Must possess a valid driver's license

Must live within a 10 minute distance of the fire station
